Sunlighten has been lucky enough to have been featured on several national talk shows over the past few years including The Ellen Degeneres Show and The Doctors.

We always like spotting our infrared saunas on TV but we LOVE when the hosts talk health benefits. In this clip from a few years ago, two of our favorite TV personalities talk about lowering blood pressure, increasing circulation and burning calories in infrared saunas (while sitting in a Sunlighten infrared sauna!).

Interested in learning a little more about losing weight in an infrared sauna?

Only Sunlighten saunas have been clinically shown to aid in weight loss. Results from a 2009 study indicated that Sunlighten saunas are beneficial for lowering weight and waist circumference in just a 3-month period. For those who are sedentary due to medical conditions such as osteoarthritis, cardiovascular or respiratory problems, results were even more profound. (1)

Dr. Oz told Oprah on her show that 30-minute infrared sauna sessions can burn upwards of 600 calories. And it’s true. During an infrared sauna session, your core temperature increases and the body works hard to cool itself. There is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories. Blood flow is reported to rise from a normal 5-7 quarts per minute to as much as 13 quarts per minute. (2)
